Grafiek is van een klant van me, dus ik weet er alles van:

- enkele trefwoorden ontdekt met weinig concurrentie
- veel pagina's op deze trefwoorden toegespitst
- website uitgebreid van 10 naar 150 pagina's, met de juiste inhoud en een duidelijke call to action.

Klant heeft er inmiddels mooi wat klanten bij.

Copyright doesn't bother me that much. I would gladly pay to rent movies from iTunes, if it was available here in The Netherlands, which it's not. I use The Pirate Bay because the entertainment industry doesn't understand how I want to consume their media, not because I hate copyright. Their loss.

If the ISP's start filtering specific websites, the same filter can (and probably will) be used to influence net neutrality. Just like Apple (or AT&T) blocked the Google Voice App for the iPhone, ISP's can decide to block Google Voice. That isn't far fetched, because all big ISP's over here are also wireless carriers and they're probably dying to get rid of Google's innovative application.

Just like you said, wireless carriers are part of big cartels and if this cartel decides to block (for example) Youtube from their networks if Google doesn't pay up, the face of the entire internet will change.

ISP's should never block any website. They are data pipes, not gatekeepers.

Smartphones. I have seen them all and hated them all.

Areas where the iPhone hasn't been beat since it's introduction

- Convergence, especially when you have a Mac for personal (media) use
- Formfactor, no wobbly plastics
- UI consistency, unlike WinMo (downright horrible) and Android (a mess)
- App store (market leader)
- iTunes store (market leader)
- iPod features (market leader)
- Browsing
- Exchange support (it's the best ActiveSync phone out there, isn't that strange)

Ofcourse it doesn't have all features any other phone has, but who cares?

I love Microsoft because of Windows XP and Exchange (I even bought the iPhone because of Exchange support) so I guess I am no Apple fanboy, but man, do I love the iPhone.

As 'law' catches up with the internet, the internet's power to erode decreases. It's already happening.

In todays news: The Pirate Bay is now a forbidden website in The Netherlands, for very vague reasons.

If the judge forces ISP's to block The Pirate Bay, a very dangerous precedent is set. Regulation stifles innovation.

Great and usable Open-Source software I actually use:

- FileZilla
- Firefox
- VLC
- Thunderbird
- Miro

and less userfriendly, but very stable:

- Yes, Linux, Apache, post-fix, MySQL, PHP, PHPMyAdmin etc.

I don't care how many open-source software packages are unusable. The user-friendly applications have brought enough joy to the world to make up for the bad ones.

Amen! I've been saying this for years. How come there's no free database for postal codes in The Netherlands? I thought (free) Web Services would solve this problem, but they didn't.
