I could only make it a few minutes into the Clinton call. When Chuck Schumer started talking I had to stop it. He was saying how this has been an uphill battle for her. Wasn't she THE nominee for almost a year? Then he said something about "the Republicans, because they don't have issues, domestic or foreign, on their side, will throw the kitchen sink at us." Isn't that the exact same thing Hillary did last week? A little hypocritical.

The Obama call mainly focuses on getting the media to ask Hillary about her tax returns.

There is a ton of sharing of mp3s on pownce, but it works just like email. So its always among friends, and if the file is hosted on pownce, they never have to worry about take down notices or people posting to pownce sharing it from their blog. You can forward an mp3 that you get to all of your friends or a set of your friends. Because of the way the RIAA works, they never will have access to those files so no need to worry about it. This is most-likely intentional. Otherwise you would directly link to the file from anywhere and anyone could download it, creating a piracy haven (even if it is <10MB).

I don't think so. The only thing is see after it's been posted is to "Forward" it, but you can only do that to your friends, rendering it useless for making it public.

When you post a note on pownce, there is a "send to" dropdown menu, where you can choose "the public"

Not sure how you can pull that off in their API, I haven't looked at it.

Bush has clearly committed crimes and the amazing thing is that so many people give him a pass on it.

I gave it a fair amount of thought whether I would use the adjective "criminal" in the title of this post, but that's exactly what this is about. That he committed crimes isn't in doubt. It's just that no one seems to want to say it out loud.

What I find insane is he wants to give them immunity, but he doesn't have the balls to admit that they did anything illegal (or did ANYTHING, for that matter). He uses words like "believed" to wiggle his way out of it. I want a White House reporter to grow a pair and call him out on his bullshit, even if it means losing their job.

I think the only thing Bush could do to have any chance of not being the worst President in history would be to admit his mistakes and resign. But we all know that will never happen.

While I agree that Ellen Page should receive and Oscar for this, I will be very surprised if she does. It was my favorite movie of the year (even if I was it in 08, it was released in 07). I hope she goes on to do more great performances!

This is a very good thing! I was reading your twitter posts a couple of weeks back and was getting a little concerned. :-) The main problem with Hillary, I think, is she wouldn't do very well in the General Election. I have still yet to meet someone in person that supports her.

Obama did say part of that in the debate. Hillary said "I never said 'Reagan'." Obama: "Well, your husband did." Hillary: "I'm the one up here right now" Obama: "I can
t tell who I'm running against sometimes."

I thought it was perfect. Had he gone on and turned to Edwards, I think that would have been a bad thing for him. He is trying to stay positive, and that wouldn't have helped.

I'm just displaying the description from the RSS feed. The Flickr feeds have thumbnails of the pics in the descriptions, that's why you're seeing them there.

Oh, great work! This is fantastic. Works perfect here, but I do have one question. Are the AP photos not displayed on purpose on that page? The flickr photos are embedded fine (like your screenshot), but photos from AP just show the text on the Events page.

Is there currently a way to share a picture that was downloaded, say, a day ago? The only way I can see to share a picture is goto the Events page, but that only shows the recent pictures that were downloaded.

I use a hot corner of my screen, just drag my mouse there and it starts up. Hot Corners are set in the Screen Saver System Pref.

The best I can think of is to make an Applescript script that contains this:

do shell script "/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine &"

I then use Quicksilver to quickly access that script (or you can set up a trigger in quicksilver to run that).

But that won't stop the screensaver from quitting from a bump of the mouse. It will only allow you to quickly get back to the screensaver.

@dave: are there any plans in the FlickrFan development to include text with the images? Like the description of the AP story (in the screensaver) or the title of a Flickr photo (and the person who took the photo). It's great as it is, just the photo; but the ability to have a little context might be nice as well.

I was playing with the Flickr API earlier this week and (from what I could tell) the problem is on there end. They replace username with the actual name. For example, my Flickr username is 'trvr3307', but the API displays that as 'Trevor Manternach' (my name on Flickr). Hopefully you can figured something out, I just gave up! :) Good work btw, loving this app.

Sounds interesting. The only system I have connected to a TV is an original xbox (modified), though. So I'll have to try it on my macbook for the time being.
