I remember it, it was 1977. I think Levar was 20 years old. I was 9. Star Trek: The Next Generation ran 7 years from 1987 - 1994.

The writers Noam Cohen and Brian Stelter obviously aren't Star Trek fans!

I'm sorry that the article linked here is no longer online. In their infinite wisdom the beleagured newspaper giant The Sun-Times has decided that articles it publishes online will only remain online for 30 days then they're removed. /facepalm.

I'm attempting to get a copy of the article from the author.

In the future I will keep my own copies and archives of the articles to republish.

Wow, this is pretty cool! And if you have a Gizmo account you can make it work with it (Gizmo uses SIPphone). AND it also appears to work with Phil Zimmerman's ZiPhone Voip encryption software for super secret squirell action!

There are people out there who actually believe that bicycles have absolutely no right to be on the "street" and therefore the people riding them on the road are flagrantly violating the law and are in the way of the only rightful vehicles to use the road; cars and trucks. These people also believe motorcycles are not actually allowed on the streets either. I used to come across them regulary.

This past summer I got honked and telled at twice to "get on the sidewalk" while riding down a street that actually had a marked bicycle lane. One of these idots got caught at a light and I got the chance to correct his stupidity on the subject.

Interesting theory about possibly setting themselves up for a complaint of getting out of the single carrier deal due to no delivery of expectations. Hmmmm.

Does anyone have any word on whether the activation server (usually run by the carrier) is controlled by Apple or AT&T?

My understanding of the process is when you plug the phone into the cradle and it does the "activation checking/setup" step, it's connecting to the carriers authorization servers to register the radio serial number on their system.

So the downtime is AT&T's fault (again!).
