(Primarily due to loss of app-store advertising: sure the tech community will figure it out, and Google might advertise in other apps, but I suspect that reaches a small % relative to app-store advertising.) Second prediction is approval of the iPhone-native app in the app store is still going to be a while. (Not tomorrow, not next month.) Grab a <your favorite candy bar here>.

Re: Acer Timeline AS3810, AS4810 and AS5810 available in U.S.

I've seen one of the models at Costco.

Re: Happy Birthday Tetris! For example http://friendfeed.com/waded?service=blog&servic...

Re: The Death of Desktop Apps

Adobe Air applications could easily be developed that syncronize settings across all installs. I suppose it is not high on TweetDeck's priorities; I don't know why.

Is TweetDeck's lack of syncronization your concrete complaint?

If so, Live Mesh (one of the "online syncronization" technologies) can fix that... and it fixes the same issue for almost any desktop app that doesn't do its own syncing. Search for it. Desktop apps are getting better, even without updates. Maybe that's why it's not on TweetDeck's priorities, and it's one reason why desktop apps are NOT dead.

Re: Josh is right, URL shorteners are risky (Scripting News)

I wonder how much storage it takes to back up tinyurl & friends.
