Great insights, Jeremiah. I found this line interesting "They will look to the technology sector to help with instant spin-up with cloud services, data security, and new innovations.". In the short-term, companies such as Apple, Google, Tesla, Microsoft, and seem to be stepping up where they can. It looks like the government will need to lean on them in the long term to reinvent or strengthen the digital infrastructure of the country. What shape this takes will be interesting and likely shaped by politics.

Nah. One of the best things about the Star Wars franchise was their ability to inject humor that wasn't over the top. It felt as much a part of the films as anything else. That's why Jar Jar was so jar-jarring to the old school fans. He pushed humor to a galaxy far far away from the contained and perfectly timed humor of franchises like the original trilogy and Indiana Jones.

I certainly poo poo'ed Snapchat at first. You can't blame me due to it's positioning as an ephemeral messaging app, but they've done some very cool things with their addition of the Stories feature. I actually enjoy checking out the content on the Discover section. The most underutilized feature by your average user? The sketching tool. Good stuff Bryan.

Good run down of Periscope. I guess it's all about timing. There's been live video streaming for some time, even on mobile. Ustream, Livestream, I even had an app called "TweetTv" or something like that. It did exactly what the current forerunners Meerkat and Periscope do. It just never caught on. I will be interested to see if this reemerging trend continues upward or not. I think it really depends on how quickly Periscope and Meerkat innovate and expand. For instance, Instagram got much more interesting when it added online profiles, 15 second video and widgets to show off your content on your website. It makes for a more well rounded experience. We shall see.

There are some mobile apps out there, not sanctioned by Snapchat, that enable you to use pre-created media. Google around or search the Apple mobile app store and you will find them.

Spot on Jason. This is why link baiting titles have become so prevalent as well. As you stated, the motivation is eyeballs, clicks and that hope to be the source of a runaway viral train wreck ... all to drive ad dollars. What's the solution? Enough journalists have to get egg on their face when they get called out for shallow or unbalanced reporting? Or does the reward far outweighs the risk?

Excellent, short and sweet insight Chris. Identifying behavior in Google analytics is where I've found the most insight when diving in to website traffic. I appreciate the reminder to look elsewhere and build out a segment accordingly.
