I should have remembered to take my “bio hacks” before doing the interview. I guess it is rather inhumane for any single human being to talk continuously non stop for like 2 minutes (assuming that there's no edits on your clip) which is crazy – oh but #crazyisgood! :)

Thanks again for doing this. I kept on referring people here to your site when I need to give an example of why Creative Commons make the world go round for creatives. Previously I have tried to illustrate with my own examples but it is hard to talk about it since I am not very eloquent as evident on the audio clip. I think that its is fantastic that you are able to turn my incoherent speech into something coherent and useful.

I put a link to this post on a recent answer on Quora: http://www.quora.com/Wealth... – and someone commented that he is now going to license his photographs via Creative Commons as well. This is good for creatives and I guess journalists who need media for articles as well.

So thank you very much for asking me for an interview – I am forever grateful for your kindness and consideration.

Cheers,
See-ming

Re: SML Pro Blog: Diversity – or why I moved from New York to Hong Kong to create SML Universe

Thanks very much for your positive feedback. It's a hard life being different – but it is also wonderful to have the experience to understand how hard life must be for people who are different. I am thankful that it thus allows me to be more open-minded about things which appear unacceptable to me.

Thank you also for your link + intro. Feel free to send an intro email to me and I will follow up. I love meeting interesting people. My email is s@sml8.it – that's the short form email – easy to remember, yes? :)

Would love to hear about your various ideas. I started blogging a long time ago because I too had too many ideas and I needed to put them somewhere so I can search for them later through tagging. Tagging is an interesting device. Keeping a notebook is also useful: http://www.flickr.com/photo...

I worked with a creative director for a few years when I was in New York. He introduced me to mindmapping which has been a really great technique to organize my somewhat ADHD thoughts. You might find that useful as well perhaps?

Re: http://gayblog.seeminglee.com/2009/10/best-gay-artists-on-flickr.html

wow really interesting stuff – sorry I haven't been moderating this blog for a while – just revisited this :)

Re: http://gayblog.seeminglee.com/2009/10/best-gay-artists-on-flickr.html

Thanks I just saw this! If we study Chinese poems 唐詩 throughout Chinese history, we would note that on the surface they appear to be talking about the beautiful scenery, but hidden underneath are in fact criticisms of the political climates. For people in the known (the scholars), the implications are clear. Yet because of the genius double nature of the poems, it is impossible for them to be executed by the 'system'.

That you manage to connect the dots with memes + Internet culture in China is well observed. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Why Gay Marriage Matters

omg this is my self portrait! @David Coveney who are you calling old movie kiss...!!! :)

Re: SML Pro Blog: Michelin-Star Fast Food Review: Tim Ho Wan 添好運點心專門店 / Hong Kong Awesomeness

You definitely should. I'm using stable sources and compiling to 64-bit only. An they worked. Justs lots of config. I'm on Mac OSX Lion with xcode 4.2 installed - which had been insane until now. I haen't had the chance to write a blog post yet. But a quick tip for you is that in order to get matplotlib compiled to 64-bit, try following the instructions here: http://matplotlib.sourcefor... and an install script similiar to this:

NAME=matplotlib

VERSION=v1.1.x

PREFIX="/Users/sml/.virtualenvs/pyvision" ## my virtualenv

#branch="release"

branch="master"

git clone git://github.com/matplotlib...

cd matplotlib

if [ $branch = "release" ]

    then

    echo getting the maintenance branch

    git checkout -b $VERSION origin/$VERSION

fi

export CFLAGS="-Os -arch x86_64"

export LDFLAGS="-Os -arch x86_64"

export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/x11/lib/pkgconfig"

export ARCHFLAGS="-arch x86_64"

python setup.py build

# use --prefix if you don't want it installed in the default location:

python setup.py install --prefix=$PREFIX

cd ..

Oh and I'm using MacPorts for the system files + a combination of PIP and easy_install for the Python libraries.
