I'll miss your "voice" from the XPrize, but definitely wish you all the best in your new role. Sounds like a wonderful opportunity!

Re: See who knew how to quit you on Twitter with Qwitter

This looks like it could create some awkward & uncomfortable situations. What is the intent? Make people feel bad when they are unfollowed? Guilt people into not unfollowing? Prompt people to ask the "unfollowers" why they stopped following? This just seems a little creepy to me.

The subtext "Catching Twitter Quitters" makes it sound like those who unfollow are doing something wrong. And the graphic of someone crying because they were apparently unfollowed is a bit over-the-top.

Re: louisgray.com: I'm Evangelizing RSS With Google Reader's E-mail Function

I've been doing the same thing for a while now. I work for a team that manages a corporate web site and it's been difficult to convince my colleagues that we need to know how to use RSS and other web technologies. I can't MAKE them adopt RSS, but I can send RSS feed items to them by email in order to not only pass along relevant information but also subtly provide a hint regarding Google Reader & RSS.

I have created keyword searches in Twitter Search and subscribed to them in Google Reader to monitor what is being said about our brand. When I get one that I know will be particularly interesting to a person or group within the company, I use Google Reader to email it to them. That has helped create awareness that: (1) people *are* talking about us online, (2) people talk about us on Twitter, and (3) you can use Google Reader to consume RSS (including automated Twitter searches).

Re: Disqus and Seesmic Pair Up For Video Comments

Text is much easier to scan at my own pace. Video *can* potentially add value to the discussion, but it can also annoy and distract. It's nice to have the ability to add video comments when you need to show something and written words can't do justice so it does have its place. But doing video because you can does not add value and makes it more difficult to follow. Plus, I can scan through text whereas I have to sit through each video. I'm probably not going to do that, especially if there are a huge number of comments.

Also...I am not as comfortable talking to a video camera and am also more likely to ramble on when doing so. My written text is much "cleaner".

So, having the capability is great. Using just because it's there gets in the way.

Re: Number of Servers for Google, Microsoft and Facebook (Hint: mindboggling numbers)

Wow!

Re: Random Stuff - Whoa, first tumble

Test of Disqus integration with Tumblr

Re: Welcome!

This is just a test of Disqus integration with my blog.
