They tend to focus on the idea behind the project, and _then_ deem that the book passes muster, and they tend to quickly gloss over any negative points. Whether this is because they're biased or not, though, I would leave off deciding until the book has been widely released and more reviews start coming out. Maybe most people really won't see all that many flaws and you (and you're friend) are the odd duck.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And whether there is bias or not, you're being about as pleasant as an enema.
