A common theme in many reviews of Vedder's varied works over the years is that he does not understand that association does not imply causation. Bottomline Vedder is a wingnut welfare queen and a hack.

It calls for the university general fund to be more open and
transparent, disclosure of the salaries, benefits and compensations of

This is far more limited than the current law with respect to the SSHE. My guess is that this is the fall back position of Old Main to protect against complete closure of the Corman-Spanier loophole in the current RTK law. Paterno has been with the University since the fifties when many if not all of the coaches had tenure track appointments and taught in the Phys Ed department. This fortunately is no longer true.

A few years ago, when Cynthia Baldwin was chair of the BOT, there was a brief mention in the BOT minute of a document she had put together delineating the criteria for judging Spanier's performance. This document, to my knowledge, has never been made public. However, it, more than any mission statement, would reveal the goals of the BOT. And my guess is that this document will be used in judging Erickson's performance. Adam, you should see if you can get your hands on this document.

Currently the property can't be developed because it sits on a flood plain. Hence the Supinas stand to make very little money off of the property as it stands. If the borough builds a flood wall, the the Supinas can make a substantial amount of money by either developing it themselves or selling to someone else to develop it. Hence the borough and taxpayers would see no direct return on their investment in the flood wall. It would all flow to a private interest, i.e. the Supinas and the other owners.

On the other hand, by using ED to obtain the property. The borough can sell property at a higher value than it was obtained at and hence see a direct return to for the taxpayer.
