I have to disagree wholeheartedly. Realistically speaking, did anyone think this team would contend for a pennant? Yes or no? Is Ike Davis our future 1B for the next 10 years? If so, then I think he should stay here and work things out. Are you telling me you would rather have a hack like Pascucci clogging up 1B? No thanks...I'll take Ike's .160 and his solid D over anyone we have in the minors currently. Our infield defense is much better with Ike then with anyone else. Jesus David Wright looks like a gold glover again, and one of those reasons is because Ike plays 1B. He'll turn it around, and he will be the Ike Davis we know by June.

I have faith Ike is going to turn it around. He is ONLY 25 years old. Hey, he still leads our team in HR's so far this season. Coupled with the fact that he is our best defensive 1B available. I think he has to stay!

I am from the Albany area. I go to TC Valleycats games alot, and I definitely go when the Cyclones are in town. The "Joe" is definitely nice and big enough to handle a AA baseball team at best.

I really believe this team can be better with Bay in the lineup. Murphy belongs in the two-hole. Bay is our five hitter, and he is a right-handed bat we desperately need to make sure teams do not stack lefties late in the game. If we can Bay going, look out! This team will continue to play well!

Mets hierarchy really has a tough decision. Personally, I like Murph. I really do. I know at the end of the season I can sign Murph up for .300 and 75 RBI's. But, is this team better for the future with Jordany Valdespin?

He has had 39 big league at-bats. I just think he needs to play everyday. In AAA, at the end of the season...decision time. I am sure once Valdespin was settled in, he would be outstanding defensively. Tejada and Valdespin doesn't sound like a bad DP combo for the next 7-8 years.

The problem is Murph is a leader on this team. And you can see it! I like Murph, but I really think Valdespin makes our team better long term.

But wouldn't we rather have better defense up the middle? When the Mets had their best teams, they were always sound up the middle.

Sick and tired of all the bashing on hating on my team. I really don't understand we are stuck with this black cloud over our heads. If I were to say to you on June 15th we would be six games over .500, Dickey would be 10-1. Santana was actually pitching, and our All Star 3B was being himself, would you have signed up for it.

ALL OF US WOULD HAVE!!!

Listen, this team is fun to watch. I haven't had this much fun watching this team since 2000. They just don't quit! They just don't quit!!!!!!! So much fun...lighten up everyone and LGM!

I still think we have a better lineup with him in it. We need that strong RH bat to break up Duda, Davis and Murphy. Plus, because of all the injuries...I want to see him do well. I respect him for the fact he always hustled. He could have dogged it, and he never did. I know he wants to contribute, and it would be an ever better story if he did. I'll continue to root for him because he plays on my team. LGM!

Exactly. Excellent post. Jason Bay is the only person we have in house who can be our #5 hitter and RH bat that this team desperately needs to split up Duda and Davis. If he stays healthy, he can be productive. His energy and his professionalism resonates really well with this young team. I've heard teammates of his call him a great person to be around. We need a healthy Jason Bay!

It shocks me to see the hate on Duda. Lucas Duda will be a 30HR and 100 RBI guy for many years to come. You cannot trade that! I hope he is our #4 hitter for the next 7-8 years. I think he has the potential to be that good.

How many ML at-bats has Duda in his career? You're telling me he cannot grow into that type of player?
